Affiliated with CRIUSMM, our laboratory is dedicated to creating tomorrow’s interventions to offer a hopeful future for individuals living with Borderline Personality Disorder. We design and develop innovative solutions that integrate and value each individual, their loved ones, and their community, supporting their personal, social, functional, and physical recovery.

Our Team

Steering Committee

Lionel Cailhol, MD, PhD

A psychiatrist at IUSMM, completed his medical training in France and Switzerland. He has devoted his clinical and academic career to borderline personality disorder. He serves as a clinical associate professor at Université de Montréal, works full-time as a researcher at CRIUSMM, and is an associate member of the CERVO research center.

Félix-Antoine Bérubé, MD

A psychiatrist at the IUSMM, Félix-Antoine Bérubé works with the STRP team and serves as Medical Director of CONNECT. He is also Head of the Psychiatry Department at the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-Montréal. Dedicated to early interventions in borderline personality disorder (BPD), he is a clinical associate professor at the Université de Montréal and an associate researcher (candidate) at CRIUSMM.

Nadine Larivière, PhD

An occupational therapist and full-time researcher at the Sherbrooke Research Centre, Nadine Larivière is also affiliated with CRIUSMM. Her work focuses on the functioning of individuals living with BPD. She is a full professor at the Université de Sherbrooke and the creator of the BIWI assessment tool.

Samuel St-Amour, PhD

A kinesiologist and professor at the Université du Québec à Rimouski, Samuel St-Amour specializes in physical health interventions for individuals with BPD, focusing on the differences between rural and urban settings.

Simon Poirier, MD

A psychiatrist at the IUSMM and Medical Director of STRP, Simon Poirier is an expert in the mentalization-based approach. In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in training and education for mental health professionals.

Frédérique Delisle, PhD (candidate)​

A doctoral candidate in psychology, Frédérique Delisle focuses her research on cognitive remediation for individuals with BPD, combining scientific rigor with innovative clinical approaches.

Kamilia SOLTANI, MD, MSc
(Candidate)​

A psychiatrist trained in France, Kamilia Soltani is pursuing a master’s in psychiatric sciences. Her work explores tDCS-based interventions for BPD, at the intersection of clinical practice and neuroscience.
